Student to Student: A Club Everyone Should Join

    Student to Student, a program based at ICJA that teaches non-Jews about Judaism, has been going strong for the past few weeks. In a normal year, Jewish students from ICJA, RZJHS, and public schools visit Christain and public schools to give presentations, but in-person presentations are not happening this year because of COVID-19.

Investment Club Debuts at Ida Crown

    Ida Crown’s investment club made its debut this year, founded by sophomore Ben Boyarskiy and senior Issac Zipperstein, and advised by history teacher Mr. Cooper. The investment club focuses on teaching students valuable skills in investment.

The Debate Club: A Second Coming

   Several weeks before school closed in March, then freshman Gabe Simon approached Ms. Sennett about starting a Debate Club. He wanted to use this club as a way to hone his public speaking skills and open a platform for others to do the same. Just as his plans were coming to fruition, classes became remote and the club had to be put on hold. Now as a sophomore working with Ms. Sennett, Gabe Simon restarted the club for anyone and everyone to join.

Ida Crown Students Elect A New Student Council

     Ida Crown students elected a new Student Council on the 29th of September with Ronen Lavi as President, Ahron Falk as Vice- President, Jonathan Thomas as Treasurer, Kayla Kupietzky as Secretary, and fifteen class representatives. Normally, Student Council elections take place at the end of the previous year, but this year the elections were delayed until the 29th because of the coronavirus pandemic.

 The beginning of the school year signifies a return to early mornings and long days. Tests and homework are being assigned every day, and sports have just begun. The start of the year can be overwhelming, and another question is on many students’ minds: how do you find the right club? This will serve as the perfect guide for all incoming freshmen, or even students that are returning to school and need a refresher.

With a few days remaining before Congress recesses for the winter holidays, ICJA students have increased their lobbying efforts. The lobbying comes at a time when Israel faces threats from terrorist organizations based in Gaza.

Erika’s Lighthouse Club Comes to ICJA; Josh Pogonitz Shares His Mental Health Journey

ICJA established a new mental health club called Erika’s Lighthouse this year. Run by Gadi Kalman, Max Miller, Sarah Zelden, Tali Rosenzweig, and Hannah Carl, the club runs in conjunction with the national Erika's Lighthouse organization.
