Mission Impossible: Mental and Emotional Roller Coaster

Be prepared to grip your chairs and anybody sitting next to you in the theatre because the newest Mission Impossible: The Fallout, will have you gasping and at the edge of your seat the entire time. There is not a point in the movie where time slows down and the characters get a chance to breathe, making it a crazy movie for both the actors and those watching it.

Filled with mystery, plot twists, and advanced technology, The Fallout earned a rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Tom Cruise daringly performs most of his own stunts. If climbing up the Burj Khalifa was not enough, Cruise makes a come back at the age of 56 and hauls his body up a rope dangling from a helicopter. Surprisingly this was not the most dangerous stunt that Cruise performed in the movie. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, on The Tonight Show, Cruise talked about how he injured his ankle when he jumped off a building for one of his stunts. Cruise’s stunts put the audience through an emotional rollercoaster filled with heart races, screams, and gasps.

The plot of the movie is very complex and includes a major twist towards the end. Masks are used and fool everybody at unexpected times. A character that disappeared a few movies back makes a comeback. The movie holds its trademark of mystery, camaraderie, and surprises. Watching the other films in the series makes some of the characters and jokes more understandable; however, it is not required to understand this film.

The main plot of the movie is that a group of terrorists plan to bomb the Vatican, Jerusalem, and Mecca. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) pairs up with his team and an extra agent from the CIA to locate the bombs that are supposed to be used for the plan. Along the way, Hunt meets up with an old friend who helps him complete the mission.

The film is rated PG-13 and is 2 hours and 28 minutes long. There is a lot of violence like in all of the other Mission Impossible movies. However, the violence level is the same as the others: extreme yet necessary. Humor and friendships continue from past movies. There is not a single slow paced or boring scene throughout the entire film. The film also features two women with lead roles: Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby. If you want to see a movie that will give you a thrill and make you laugh at the same time, and if you want to find out if three major countries blow to ashes or not, go see The Fallout.
